Frequently Asked Questions

Black Girl Soccer is an Atlanta-based organization that creates welcoming, high-quality soccer experiences for girls through skill development, mentorship, leadership, and confidence-building led by licensed women coaches. We believe soccer is more than a game—it's a vehicle for community, personal growth, and opportunity.
-
Black Girl Soccer is a player development program, not a club or competitive team. We exist to complement—not compete with—recreational, school, academy, and club soccer by giving girls more opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
Our programs go beyond technical soccer training to support the whole athlete through small-group player development, private training, speed and agility sessions, strength training, nutrition and wellness education, and resources for parents. Every experience is designed to help girls build confidence, leadership, resilience, and a lifelong love for the game.
Our mission isn't to recruit players away from teams—it's to create more opportunities for girls to access the game, reach their full potential, and fall in love with soccer. Whether your daughter is stepping onto the field for the first time or preparing for higher levels of play, we're here to support her journey both on and off the field.
-
We believe great coaching goes beyond teaching soccer. Our women coaches create safe, inclusive spaces where girls build technical skills, confidence, leadership, and community. Many of our coaches are giving today's players the experience they wished they had growing up—one rooted in representation, belonging, and the joy of the game.
-
Our programming is open to girls ages 4–16, with age-appropriate training designed to meet players where they are in their soccer journey. While our mission centers on increasing access and representation for Black and Brown girls in soccer, we welcome all girls who are excited to learn, play, and grow together.
-
